so why not simply say ..does not earn as many miles ...or we are not give you all the miles ... and this is better ?
Seems like an incorrect literal translation from Dutch. Probably the Dutch text used the word 'sparen' which has a quite different meaning than 'to save'. E.g. putting money in your savings account would be 'to save money in your savings account'. So it has more to do with accumulating money/miles/KLM houses/... I guess someone simply mis-translated 'sparen' into 'save'.
