It's not so much the elite mileage accumulation, but the upgrade policies....

As a leisure,low-fare buying silver elite, I can handle spending the extra few dollars it takes to get full elite mileage credit. What pisses me off is the constant fees for trying to use the miles for upgrading. With the new policy for upgrading to BF, if I want to go to Hawaii, I would have to buy a FULL FARE economy ticket. And that is only if I didn't want to spend the extra couple of hundred dollars each way!!!!!!

I think if CO is going to tack on all these fees for upgrading, which I don't believe any other airlines do (I could be wrong), they need to start making reward and upgradeable seats AVAILABLE!!!!! And not just within 30 days of travel either.

I'm sorry but I don't think that is a lot to ask. When I plan my trips (again, all leisure), especially international vacations, I plan these months and months in advance. I believe that AA/US/UA/NW release at least some seats 331 days in advance.

Sorry, I just needed to rant and rave at their idiotic upgrading policy.
