I get sick of being 'assisted' by the India Call Center. The way to get around that is to press the prompt for International when you go through the prompts or once you get connected to the Call Center just say, "I would like to talk with someone about international flights" and they connect you back to the USA.
Once you get a US person, they will help you with anything, domestic or international. Has worked on more than one occasion for me.
How ironic that the Call Ctr located in India cannot deal with International reservations but the one in the U.S. can!
I have always had problems with DL's Indian Call Center, but always due to the lack of authority the agents there have to actually do anything useful!!!.
