That was my point exactly. I have always admired Richard Branson for his "rebel spirit", and while I think checking in 20 minutes prior to closing rather than 180 minutes was hardly rebellious on my part, I didn't expect to be chastised for my "late" check-in by employees of an airline that was founded by such an admirable man.
P.S. I notice the Virgin Atlantic section on FT doesn't seem to be a very active one, so I don't expect my comments will ever be seen or taken into consideration by VS management.
