Word to the wise - if you plan to travel to the UK for more than a 2-week stay (we had no idea) - make sure you get a "visitor's visa" and have enough money to support yourself for your entire stay - even IF you have friends to stay with and even if you have planned ahead. I would hate to hear of anyone else going through what I went through.
Getting a visa doesn't guarantee entry just reduces the chances of being questioned / turned back.
She asked had I met these friends before in person, I said no. How did I know them, I said for many years on the internet.
I suspect that anyone who says that they visiting people they have never met & who doesn't have proof of funds will get the same treatment.
Also what is your friend's nationality and where was she coming from, both of which are very important bits of information.
