We are travelling from UK to NY, NV and CA and will be buying an FAA approved car seat for our son - i have read on another forum that the car seat ( with 5 point harness) must be used with the base - can anyone confirm this? it contradicts what i read on the internet about californian state legislation regarding car seats and infants so i am now worried as i was intending to throw the base away and just use the seatbelt to secure the seat in the car. any thoughts?
