Kinda, sorta, in a way along the same lines ish.......
I recall a fairly recent flight to Barbados where a family were split up with the husband sitting in Club and the Wife and Kid sat in World Chav-ler. The husband's company had paid for his ticket but he had to pay for the family's with his own dime.
Anyway, the Mum and child were sat in, say, 35DE so I very politely asked the gentleman sitting in 35F whether he would mind moving to another aisle seat slightly further down the aircraft (without actually mentioning the fact that said seat was in Club). The man refused point blank and would not enter in to negotiations. I then spoke to the person in 35C and asked them whether they would mind moving instead. They obliged.
I took great, great pleasure in announcing to the family of J-Pax that I would be moving the person from 35C in to Club World. The face of 35F dropped before turning in to a scowl which lasted all flight.
He approached me and said that he had changed his mind and would be happy to move to allow the family to be seated together. Of course, by this point it was too late.
