I lived in the Memphis area for several years and made one visit to a gay bar. Coming from Baltimore, I found the gay bars to be severely lame. You're better off going to Cooper-Young or Midtown for the bars. Things could have changed since I moved away in 2002, but with the way Memphis works (slowly) I'd be surprised.
