Proper handing of delayed flight!
About a month ago I was flying FLL-IAH-MSP-MCI, and the FLL-IAH leg ended up having a mechanical delay of about 3.5 hours. They "de-boarded" the aircraft during that time, and gave everyone a food vouncher and a "travel pack" thing that included a 5 minute phone card and a certificate for up to $75 discount on a future ticket. They also rebooked me on an IAH-MCI flight that arrived 3 minutes after my scheduled arrival (I know, fewer miles, but I can live, and I guess I could ask for the original routing miles).
Today I received a letter from Continental again apologizing for the delayed flight, etc., and included a $100 e-certificate.
Personally, I thought the situation at the time was well handled and I was happy even before this letter. I believe they did the right thing, and deserve recognition for it!
