Yes, amiras, I booked through AAdvantage, which is supposedly one of the easiest award programs through which to get seats. I would have preferred using CX for the transpacific legs but generally CX scheduling seems to work best for those originating from the west coast. I was shut out of JL09 from ORD to NRT but did manage to get JAL first on the NRT-BKK-NRT and NRT-ORD legs. Those seeking award flights seem to know which are the top-of-the-line flights (and Singapore certainly has many of them) so the award seats tend to disappear quickly.
