I ticketed an itinerary through the .au site. There is an e-ticket showing (although not emailed to me), but no ticket number! When I try to upgrade, it says that the itinerary is not ticketed. When I look at the itinerary at united.com is claims it's not ticketed.
I called ua res in SYD and they claimed that the ticket request has to be done manually, and that my request is in a queue. I ticketed immediately as I could see upgrade inventory was available. I'm concerned that maybe I made a mistake when entering my CC info. Anyone got any similar experience?
In my experience, the tickets have always been issued immediately after purchase. The only aberration to this consistency was one of my more recent online reservations, for which I received an e-mail stating this:
Your itinerary has been held, however your ticket was NOT issued. Please call United Technical Support at 1-800-589-5582 to guarantee your airfare and complete the ticketing process. Your record locator number is: UA-XXXXXX
However, the same reservation shows fine on My Itineraries page with ticket number, and I was allowed to request upgrade on certain segments. It looks fine so I never bothered to call
