Woaw, now I am even being called rude for not doing something that I actually did do!

I speak (more than) a few phrases of Chinese (although I would rate myself an absolute beginner) but it did not have any effect.

Gosh, I thought I was doing people a favour by warning them not to stay here. Next thing I get accused of not trying to speak the language, expecting too much of staff at an international airport to speak a few words of English, being rude and shouting.

Oh, and I am NOT a native speaker of English (another assumption).

I am getting pretty tired of the agression on this board.

Having said that, thank you to others who have posted their friendly replies.
