Flew the 17late in CW on Monday: for once it arrived on time (see later). The good news is that the catering is semi-normal again.

The answer on food is that its.....

....brunch!

It happens c an hour after departure you get cornflakes and fruit plate or salmon with warm croissants, then choice of main courses - full english thing (or JFK catering interpretation thereof), omlette, and more usual main course or pasta (depending on what they can bothered to load). then pudding OR cheese. An hour out of LHR they serve sandwiches and cake.

On this flight crews never know when to offer the bar trolley...

Note that in my experience (over 5 years of the 178/186/002(rip), once or twice a month) the flight often leaves late, arrives over London about 2030, circles for c 25 minutes, then lands on the furthest runway from T4, waits to cross the other one, then waits again for a gate in the cul-de-sac. BA then seem to get bored waiting, put it on gate 23 (miles from anywhere) and turn an early arrival into London into a late arrival off the aircraft.
PS - If you can, use the food in the F lounge at JFK before hand. mixed berries, melon, etc is quite good. they have bagels you cantoast, cream cheese, and some realy great little chocolate muffins. After that you wont care what they serve on board. However, being BA its not all good: The wine in the F lounge at JFK in the mornign is nt fit to clean a urinal with. That said if ur drinking at 8am, maybe its time to wonder why
