It would appear both manufacturers manufacture excellent products as their near equal world market share bears out. Apart from the regular travellers and aircraft enthusiasts, most travellers would not know (or even care) whether they were on a 330 or 777 across the pond. Both are safe, efficient and reliable airplanes. Sometimes it seems almost a commodity market; airlines are able view both A and B planes as generally technically equal and conduct a dutch auction - witness the massive discount Ryanair was able to extract out of Boeing a few years ago.

As this forum shows, it is the interior fit for seats, lack of IFE etc that people mostly whinge about and that is entirely in the hands of the airlines, not the manufacturers.
Well you can ride in a 340 any day... [a very long day] try a full load and wait to get altitude because it has no power... if you want lots more head room, bin space... try a 777. obviously you have not been in a 777 PS all planes today are safe.... the unsafe ones crashed... or the ones that pilots land on the last 1/2 of a wet runway.
