The stretch planes (both Boeing and Airbus), tend to trade range for capacity (passenger and cargo).
Also, Boeing and Airbus passenger figures use a 60" pitch for International F, a 38" pitch for International Business/Domestic First, and 31" pitch for Economy. That is why they show more passengers then the airlines actually add for three class, since most airlines offer much more generous pitch in Business (and often in First).
As for ex-HNL, UA serves NRT and KIX with daily 777 service, but not sure if DL would want to dedicate a BE-config 763ER to that route on similar runs.
