I've just been investigating an Wake Vortex encounter in which an A320 rolled 45 degrees to the right, dropped 200ft, then climbed 400ft, and autopilot disengaged. Candidate aircraft for producing the wake vortex was a B747-400 13 miles ahead on the same track, but slightly higher!
