It works brilliantly for most nuisance calls (and stops those odd dropped calls) but will not work against companies outside the UK. IIRC the holiday calls are from the USA. BT say that there is nothing they can do about them. I suggest:
(a) Explaining politely you would rather they didn't call again and that you don't want to go on a cruise with obese Americans, or
(b) Taking up as much time as possible to discourage them from wasting their time, or
(c) Being as rude as possible (think Hanibal Lecter)
