Speaking from the point of view of someone that has professionally been employed as a "mystery guest" (my official title was "hotel monitor"), I applaud the hotel in question for having a mystery guest program but question the use of a "regular" guest instead of someone who is professionally trained to do so in a controlled fashion.
Although it is great that the property in question has a mechanism in place to guage the guest experience, I hope that this initiative is not a substitute for a true independant monitoring program.
