After I got my first ssss I wondered about the effectiveness of adding security checks if the passenger has been informed that the extra scrutiny is comming up. I'd think that a no-goodnick would just leave the airport instead of attempting to go through the extra security. Or, alternatively, if there are a few no-goodnicks then they could check their boarding passes to see who was not 'marked' and proceed to give him/her the 'weapons' to go through a less scrutinized security check.
For the sake of 'security' the airlines have to devise another way of informing the security personnel that the passenger has been ssss'd.
