Since we hardly ever get together in Chicago, we thought it might be a nice change of pace to get together for dinner. The place, by popular demand, is the legendary
Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company, at 2121 N. Clark Street. I will suggest 6:30 p.m., giving folks time to arrive from work, but early enough to get home at a decent hour (it is a school night). If people prefer a later or earlier start, please indicate and we'll change it if a majority agree.
If you haven't been here, it is a real treat. It's not thin crust, it's not deep dish, it's not stuffed. It's a pizza pot pie, baked in a bowl with the crust on top and turned upside down on your plate. A unique experience. They also have great, huge salads and incredible Mediterranean bread.
Please sign up here, but unlike our usual lunch venues,
this place is small and crowded and doesn't take reservations, so please be on time. I'm not sure we can handle our sometimes surprise guests who arrive late and unannounced.
