andyjc: Sadly, this is now an even bigger issue since BA stopped their LHR-JER service last October. I'm usually flying UA to LHR and then picking up the coach myself to LGW. I suppose I could switch to BA for the whole trip, but if I did that I'd simply connect at LGW conventionally.
