And, though this may come as a shock, you don't matter much to AC, at least not relative to the big spenders.

These fares are not designed for university students trying to make sure they always get to sit in J class on internationally configured widebody.

They are designed for business travellers who need ultimate flexibility in their travel plans, have clients who frequently change meeting times/dates, etc., and who don't want to be stuck with charges for changes or non-refundable tickets.
