Investigation showed that NW was charging for $30 french governemnt tax that CO was not charging.

I booked two award round trips EWR-NAS--both CO metal, CO numbers, 1 bought w/ worldperks miles and one with CO miles. Co charged me $25.10, and NW about $52. When I have more time I will figure out what happened...
