That's good to know; I had wondered before whether I could use one to go DCA-SAV, which is under 800 point-to-point, yet requires a trip to ORD that pushes it way over 800. I think the consensus at the time was that I couldn't do that, but it's good to hear that it worked out for you. I'll have to see if I can use my remaining 800-miler that way, too.
