You are correct regarding Sheratons not being luxury hotels, they are more of an "upscale traditional" brand. Maybe it should've been like this. Sheraton=traditional upscale, Westin= modern upscale, W Hotels=kitsch upscale. It is true that these "true" Luxury Hotels are not in the same category as the Sheraton... Fairmont, Ritz, Four Seasons, St Regis, Sofitel, Mandarin Oriental Hotels, etc...
