Well, United will have to do the API stuff, so it's still a little surprising.
As for getting ticked off when you still check in before the 60 min deadline, well that's just wrong. If VS publish 60 minutes as the deadline, and you check in before time is up, then you're not late. Personally I hate to cut it fine (you never know what the queues will be like!), but if you're on time, you're on time.
