A couple of months ago my daughter and her children used the on-line check-in facility on a VS flight from MCO to LGW. They got to the Airport in Orlando 75 minutes before the flight and there was no queue at the Check-in Counter, but the agent gave her grief for checking in so late. My daughter pointed out that the VS website detailed a cut-off time of 60 minutes for Airport Check-in when using on-line check-in, which the agent indicated was wrong. It was not worth discussing it with agent so they just checked in their luggage, got their boarding passes and boarded the plane on their way to LGW. Just another case of poor customer service.
