I am not surprised to be honest. In fact I'm amazed PYOBP was allowed on-line as it was obviously not accepted at the airport.
I have been to Malta twice in the last ten years with Air Malta. Somehow it didn't really press the right buttons for me as a place to visit and couldn't see the attraction anymore than the balerics or the greek islands could offer. Yet I love Corsica and Sardinia, which seems to attract a different crowd. (Dare I say it....

).
Aside from the issue of the onboard DISCO, consequently I am not surprised by the blank looks at the status cards. It is obviously a very tourist route, however, not all bucket and spade routes have such nieve staff. AGP (Malaga) frequently has its lounge visited by a raft of status holders, including some Premier card holders in my experience of the lounge.
