H fare - non changable/ upgrade ?
had a very unpleasent experience with the nobs at Iberia in IBZ.
i new the flight was very full and so i chanced it on the fact that a few won't show up and booked a H fare,
called BA a few times and i was put on stand by for the flight, the stand by didn't clear but the ba lady on the phone said just turn up should be ok.
Iberia said - no you are not on stand by ,(had the print out)
also they said the ticket is not changable or upgrade is not possible , (also lied and said business was full, infact 1 seat avail as confirmed by ba USA)
Umm, i called BA (america, uk office shut) asking for advice as the iberia staff said it was not a semi flex fare. and can i upgrade my ticket to business on the phone.
she was very helpful (in what little she could offer) and tried to get the rate desk to upgrade my fare (25 mins long distance phone call)
eventually at the final second found someone with a brain and got onto one of the 6 no-show seats for £50 change fee.
should i claim (write letter ) for the phonecall and the problems, or just think the IBZ staff are crap.
i paid an £100 extra for the H fare.
any thoughts? Lyndsay?
