As far as accessories go; I love the ipods massive assortment of extras.
Massive sales mean nothing aside from massive sales. GM is the largest car seller in the world yet not everyone likes to drive a GM. Massive sales don't equate to a product being superior or of better quality. I am sure I can find a multitude of Mac owners that will say Windows is a piece of crap even though Windows has masssively more sales than Apple. You will even find some Windows owners who will agree.
Some people don't care for Itunes software.
Some people don't buy their music from Itunes( I never have and I never will pay $1 for low quality DRM data, although I did download some tunes with a free gift card given to me).
Some people don't care to spend extra money on accessories. (I have my etymotic earphones and a pair of portable sony powered speakers I bought years ago in Tokyo while on a business trip. These are all the accessories I need).
You see my music usage has not changed much since the days of the Walkman. I still use my portable music much in the same way as I did years ago. The only difference now is that I don't have to carry a case of tapes or CD's. I don't see the need for all of these added extras that Apple and it's partners have convinced people to buy.
The M cube is a nice little player that I would term more as a novelty because of it's simplistic design and style. Nothing full featured or extraordinary about it. Some people will buy it because they simply like it. The same as some people will buy the Nano. I don't find the Nao that special either aside from the great pricepoint offered for 4gb of solid state memory.
