BA Lounge Agents respond in a more positive fashion to BA Gold or BA Silver Cards than the OW equivalent for obvious commercial reasons!
BA Cards mean we're getting your business - OW Cards mean someone else is getting most of your revenue. We actually re-charge your Card Issuing Airline for the lounge access and that means, if we allow extra guests in, we won't get paid!
The Lounge Agents also get peed off in the summer with golfing parties of ten (only one of whom is a Gold cardholder) and families including "Mum, Dad and Auntie Flo" demanding lounge access 'cos their cousin, Billy has "one of them fancy card things!" (.....and this actually happens, several times a day!)
Consistency is everything - I quite agree Dave! If everyone is treated equally, there can be no cause for complaint!
Equally, there's no harm in asking for a favour! However, please do not ask if you're likely to be offended with a rejection!!!
