Where I work, we have the choice of the Imperial or the Okura. Yes, I know, it's a hardship.

It was described to me by a French colleauge as the Okura being the 7th and the Imperial being the 16th arroindissement (ie. old money vs. new money.)

The Imperial is sort of a grand central station whereas the Okura is so subdued (sometimes) to the state that you wonder if there are any live human being in there...

Between the two, I'd pick the Okura any day !

PS -- On a private visit, I stayed at the Westin which is not as centrally located but I thought was the best value-for-money I'd experienced in Tokyo---and that's saying something...
