Your balance will reset to zero when it ticks over the 1500 point threshold and a whole new year of Goldenness commences from that date.

The system is a bit crude however, as it will zero out any tier points earned on subsequent flights, ie. those taken between the date of the flight that triggered promotion and its date of posting. If this happens, BAEC will repost the subsequent flights on request.
