But I still get up around 6. I have to agree its not that early. However we don't know OPs schedule. He may have been on a later schedule making 6:20 early....I think the main point most are stating is that expecting compensation for false alarms is a little presumtious. I think the bigger point is what caused the alarms...if it was a group of pranksters pulling the alarm then the hotel shouldn't be held liable. If it was a faulty system and they didn't have it repaired after the first occurence of a false alarm, then they should offer some form of compensation. A good GM is going to be proactive and offer guests a less expensive comp than a weekend stay (perhaps a few drinks or breakfast would make most guests happy without having a drastic effect on the bottom line).

I personally would have made sure the manager knew about my inconvenience, that I travel a lot, and can't stay in a location with a faulty alarm that wakes me up. Typically the GM will want to keep a frequent guests business and will offer something compensatory without me having to come accross as a snob and asking for it. If they don't I have to weigh the seriousness of the situation and whether I should return to the property.
