Not that it guarantees anything but the last 3 trips (FEB, MAY and JUL) all cleared for me. (ORD/DFW-HNL)
As a matter of fact, on two of the redeyes, the seat next to me was empty.
If you do want a guarantee, then miles is the way to go.
