Agreed. I have had wonderful experiences with both groundstaff and cabin crew aboard SQ, and one pilot even let me sit in the cockpit for landing in SIN. More recently, I desperately needed to get on a flight and the groundstaff in PEN called, and then telexed their counterparts in Singapore to check inventory and get my priority waitlisting. I got a middle seat, but when it's urgent really a small price to pay.
Now, about that makeover...
