Sure, if I'm on a $49 a night extended stay rate, I can probably see a little bend to it, but if I'm on a $179 a night Residence Inn stay, why should I only receive 5 points for base versus the 10 of a Courtyard (like in Houston where the RI and CY downtown are in the same building and utilize the same kitchen. I just have no reason to frequent one for that standpoint alone.
This is my primary beef with RI.I actually emailed Marriott Rewards asking why they only gave 5 points for RI-they said RI offers more amentities than their other brands ,thus the lower point earnings.No more RI for this Gold
