Moreover, I don't follow your logic - as I see it your itinerary supports my contention that PPT must be in South America, but in any case the itinerary appears illegal because you have at least 3 stopovers in SWP (ZQN, CHC, MEL).
Sorry, it should have said -xMEL-, which makes it legal under your explanation.
My original posting is wrong in several ways and is unclear to boot - apologies.
Edited to add the correct explanation: Ah, now I remember. The full itinerary originally booked was
SYD-xCHC-ZQN-xCHC-xAKL-PPT-IPC-SCL-JFK,PVD-xORD-STL-BOS-xLHR-PRG-LHR-EDI-xLHR-xMEL-CBR
And I remember that PPT was in SWP because SYD-xCHC-ZQN-CHC-xAKL-PPT-... involved three stopovers in SWP, so I had to book SYD-xCHC-ZQN-xCHC-xAKL-PPT-... instead.
I had forgotten the Christchurch transfer since it was one of those '23 hours is still legally a transfer' types of transfers.
I did in the end manage to get away with a third stopover in SWP after an itinerary change (the end of the ticket was rebooked as ...EDI-xMAN-HEL-xBKK-SYD-CBR) but that was clearly an error on their part due to not inspecting the beginning of the ticket carefully enough.
