Maybe it is because you are declining the free booze.
1) I always carry-on luggage even going 3 weeks to Europe.
2) The booze certainly makes traveling that much more barable and actually enjoyable. About 45 minutes before landing the FA comes over and hands me a bottle and volunteers to me that after that bottle they have run out of my liquor of choice (At that point I am perfectly OK with that fact) and I am feeling pretty good about my trip even if I had earlier delays.
I am biting my lip wanting to know why Westcoaster and Eastbay refuse the booze but I know it is none of my business and that I should not even probe the issue.
