What's "a few points"? You may be able to appeal to BA's good nature (should they have one) if it's perhaps 15 or less points (ie. what you'd earn in one more sector) and if you've put a lot of business their way (ie. most or all of your points were earned on BA-operated flights on BA numbers rather than codeshare, alliance partners, etc...).
