If 150 seats are full on a flight, there will only need to be 2 crew members.

However, if there are 151 seats full, they will need 3 - with the 1 seat justifiying the cost of the extra crew member. Win - win situation.


One could argue that if the seats arent regularly filled, passenger comfort should be improved. However, obviously jetblue is getting good loads or else it would remove the seats
