Even once you follow those instructions earplugs are still very easy to remove - Just grab the edge and yank them out
OK no jibes about the space between my ears, but I think my ears are deeper than my nails are long, because that never is as easy for me as you make it sound. .
(I often wish I had tweezers - except security would probably confiscate them.)
