Not always, I think. Sometimes they occur when the company just want to 'refresh' itself. Cathay was not doing any bad when they introduced their new (Landor designed?) corporate image. Citibank changed their logo because of a merger.

But I think it would be hard to come up with something better than the current livery. When I see the their planes now, I think 'luxury' & 'premium'. I am sure that even if they change the livery, the logo will stay the same.

Thinking about it, they might have been experimenting for a new livery back in 1997 with their 50th anniversary design?
