Besides the usual option of buying an additional battery, I'd like to suggest getting a new notebook. The new Intel Pentium-M processors allow for great battery life (they're the processor behind the "Intel Centrino mobile technology" marketing campaign). My new notebook will get 4 hours of life on one battery and it's one of the worst - the ThinkPad T40 being the best at 7 hours on its extended battery.
