Yes, I too mostly never interact with the hotel staff on a regular basis. Usually I check in and never talk to anyone again (unless I order room service). However the last Courtyard I stayed at (also in Vegas) there was no checkout option on the TV so I called the front desk to check out. For 10,000 points, I'll make sure I interact with anyone I can.
To answer the other question - according to the e-mail that I pasted in my first post, he was the
Guest Care Manager.
