I am writing from Japan having just spent 13 hours with my knees in my chest from a terrible bulkhead seat (NWA - Detroit to Narita). I checked Seatguru.com and chose what was described as a "good" seat. My coworker left his seat selection to chance and lucked into an awsome seat that wasn't "supposed" to be good. The curvature of the fuselage at the back of the 747-400 makes the width too small for rows of 3 seats at the windows. The last 3 rows have 2 seats, which left ample space to stretch your legs into the void by the windows. As a bonus, the seat width was not shortened by having the tray table stored in the armrest.
My 12 hour return flight is from Narita to Atlanta on Delta. The 777-200 appears to have the same seat configuration on at the rear of the aircraft (see
http://www.seatguru.com/airlines/Nor...ng_747-400.php ). I currently have a standard aisle seat and was tempted to change to row 56 A or J on the chance that it might be similar to the 747. Does anyone know if these seats have same seat configuration? Seatguru.com does not have a discussion forum to post this question.
Thanks in advance for any responses....
