Well, I've booked two day tours for December:
Ayuthaya (from Bangkok) and
Lampang/Thai Elephant Conservation Ctr (from Chiang Mai)

Cost was about $100 each for private driver/guide. That is expensive, but I am really looking forward to spending the day travelling with a gay local.

Anything else you guys think I should be aware of in advance? Otherwise, I'll let you know how it goes in Dec.
