You are correct that it is only 550 miles to ABS. I am going by data from the KVS tool. It shows a non-stop that takes 2 hours and 45 minutes. 04:15 is the hour of departure. The plane type is 737 or AB6, so it's not a slow plane.
Not surprisingly, the timetable on Egyptair's website does not work.
Your statement about the cabins is contradicted by the seatmaps on Egyptair's website. It looks like US style F class rather than Euro C class that you are implying. Although I have heard vague comments that verify what you are saying. But why would all the seatmaps show for example 2 x 2 seating on the 737. Maybe they just block the middle seats? Did you fly any widebodies like the AB6 or 330? They are retiring the AB6s so these flights may change to 330s. The AB6 shows 2-3-2 and 2-2-2 seating in F and C class. Y is 2-4-2.
My Egyptian friends are arranging this, although it sounds like a nightmare. There is a flight at 11 pm ASW-LXR so I guess this is how our 24 day ends! I am suggesting something different where we go back..... don't worry about that, I have it under control.

No I am not on a mileage run on Egyptair!!! Where the hell do I put these miles anyway?
p.s. Oh crap, the KVS tool shows things in an odd way. Further down it shows the same times with a stopover in ASW. That explains it.......
