Allow me to politely re-emphasise some points in response to your post:

I cannot imagine it takes more than 5 minutes for the crew
It takes me at least three minutes to open my bag, remove the laptop, pass bag, laptop and other items through x-ray machine, remove jacket, shoes and belt, pass through the metal detector, put shoes, belt and jacket back on, replace laptop in bag then proceed on my way. Thats if I don't have the additional pat down or explosives swab. There are up to 17 crew behind me in the line.

Arrival fifty minutes prior to the flight is plainly insufficient if boarding is meant to start 45 minutes prior to the flight.
As I said above, "From a pilot perspective getting to the aircraft at 50 mins before departure is plenty of time to do our stuff and is rather more time than we normally get at LHR. Pre-boarding is actually scheduled to start at -35 mins with main boarding shortly after.". I
