You know the really annoying thing is neither would I. I had only put them (+ every other metal object) in there because I was expecting to have the bag up untill I got on the plane, and didn't want to set off the metal detectors going thorugh security thereby getting an extra screening.

To be fair, the TSA guys on the passenger screening desks were great, one of them offered me a glass of water, after he realised I wasn't feeling great. It was just the luggage guys that I'm not happy about.
